Established in 1969, this private member-owned club is where lifelong memories are made, traditions honored, and fun is had!
For over 50 years The Yacht & Country Club has been steeped in its tradition providing a warm, welcoming community environment. Our Club was designed to meet the needs of an active lifestyle that continues to reward its members, guests and future members alike.
The golf course was originally built and designed by Charles P. Martyn on a swath of scrub near the Manatee Pocket. The development introduced the first golf course community in Stuart, Florida. Originally the club attracted an upper echelon of buyers which included Air Force generals, Navy admirals, titans of corporate industry in addition to retirees from colder climates who came to live in a little-known piece of paradise.
The unique tour quality layout attracted some big names for good causes in the early days. The Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus, made headlines at both its 1971 and 1972 charity tournament featuring Perry Como and Sam Snead. The pro-am tournaments raised finds for “Stamp Out Drug Abuse” program.
